Sima Chatterjee

A post-graduate from Burdwan University with a Diploma in Rural Development Management and training from the Indian Social Institute, Bangalore. Over three decades in rural development, including 30 years as a coordinator at the Rural Development Consortium and 12 years as state coordinator of the District Rural Development Cell (24 Parganas). She has represented women's issues at the World Women's Conference in Beijing and at seminars in the USA and Germany. Her work focuses on gender and development, women's empowerment, and the prevention of early marriage.

Saswati Ghosh

An economist and feminist, she studied Economics at Jadavpur University up to her Ph.D. A founder member of the Nari Nirjatan Pratirodh Mancha and of Maitree, she has long been active in the women's movement, speaking out against gender and state violence. She taught Economics at City College for 40 years until her recent retirement, and writes extensively on gender, rights, and development at both academic and popular levels.

Advocate. Joined Sutanutir Sakhya in 2009 as a counsellor and now serves as Joint Secretary. She is committed to supporting and empowering women through sensitive, effective legal guidance, with a strong focus on women's rights and trusted legal representation to help women navigate challenging situations.

Debjani Deb

As a women's rights activist, Ms. Debjani Deb has worked closely with community-based organizations and civil society groups to promote women's leadership, legal awareness, gender sensitization, and the prevention of gender-based violence. Debjani Deb is a recitation artist committed to nurturing women's confidence and leadership by training them to use poetry as a tool for empowerment and advocacy.

Co-founder of the organisation. Senior strategist with deep experience in legal advocacy, programme design, and institutional partnerships.

Rahima Khatun

Rahima Khatun

A social worker with a Master's in History from Calcutta University and a B.Ed, she serves as Secretary of the Nari-O-Sishu Kalyan Kendra, working on community mobilisation, women's rights advocacy, education, and livelihoods. A former member of the Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board, Howrah, she is a National Committee member and State Convenor of the Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan (BMMA). Her work has been honoured with the Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Award (2011) and the Rajya Mahila Samman (2014).
