Significant Interventions
- Awareness Program on Domestic Violence
During the 16-day campaign period, Sutanutir Sakhya organized an awareness program on domestic violence in Birpur Village of Rohanda Chandigarh Gram Panchayat, North 24 Parganas. Women from Birpur village participated and also discussed strategies to prevent child marriage in the locality.
- Awareness Program (9th December 2023)
72 women from the SHG group of Chandigarh village, North 24 Parganas participated. The discussion covered women-friendly laws to prevent violence against women and children. Manasi Ghosh, co-coordinator of Sutanutir Sakhya, informed participants about the existing support mechanisms where women can access services and support.
- Awareness Program on Critical Social Issues (2nd December 2024)
Organized for community women at the project office in Madhyamgram, focusing on child marriage, female feticide, domestic violence and more. Facilitated by president Mrs. Sima Chatterjee with member Sukalpita Roy; social workers Gopa Routh and Farida Mondal from Gana Unnayan Parishad also contributed.
- Observation of Constitution Day (26th November 2023)
Organized in Ward No. 6 of Madhyamgram Municipality. Members of self-help groups participated. 26th November is also National Anti-Dowry Day — women of self-help groups discussed how the dowry system can be prevented in our society and took an oath that they would not give or receive dowry.
